Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg (Kshto /ti̘ˈʃajɪ̞g/ [hour] [visitor]) is a subtropical Town located in S̺a Qolû Kingdom, Gàdāwù Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg was founded by Laergulnith Làkocà, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg has a yearly average temperature of 23°C (73°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 20°C (68°F). Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg was founded durring the late 10th century, by Laergulnith Làkocà. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 10th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg is is constructed arround a semi-circular broad paverstone mainstreet, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town lacks any defencive features, though certainly constructing even a simple fence or digging a ditch is at the forefront of the 's mind. At least, one would hope so.

Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are reading. The entire town feels like a library, with those not reading remaining quite to not disturb those who have their nose in a book. The longer you remain in Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg the more you start to wonder if you’ve entered some strange open-concept University rather than a town, but you can’t quite say such with certainty.

Cultural Notes

Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by their massive, monolithic and 'blocky' appearance with a rigid geometric style. It was best known for its rough, unfinished surfaces, unusual shapes, heavy-looking materials, straight lines, and small windows. Modular elements were often used to form masses representing specific functional zones, grouped into a unified whole.

Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is long in Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg.

The Mud Elemental, Large near Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg are known to be quite timid.

Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves performance art to channel Charm energies of tier 2 via throat singing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg lost 242 people, 137 livestock, and 68 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 118, when members of Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg's militia enacted an operation to scout a specific location for information about the enemy. The operation was complicated by a significant percentage of the militia choose to go abandon the operation and return home. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in victory for Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Kèr Kshtoti̊shayíhg's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
